John is a partner at SAM International and an experienced advisor who meets both companies and candidates with equal parts curiosity, strategic insight and human understanding. With more than 25 years of leadership and development experience in the energy and utilities sectors, he is used to thinking long-term – whether this involves business, relationships or sustainable development.
John is passionate about helping companies find the right candidate – and, just as importantly, ensuring that the candidate wants to choose that particular job. His strong business acumen, combined with a deep interest in ESG and the green transition, makes him a valued dialogue partner, especially when recruitment needs to align with a company’s strategic direction. He works with specialists, executives and boards of directors, and is also actively engaged in Asnet – a board network that, among other things, focuses on the “SME of the Year” and best practice corporate governance.
For John, Value Through People is at the very core of his work – because strong results emerge when people grow together, and because relationships are built on trust, insight, respect and a shared direction.
In his free time, John lives much like he works – with plenty of energy. He lives on a converted farm surrounded by Icelandic horses, dogs and his own forest. He’s active in the local community, also working as a spinning instructor, and he often cycles all the way to the office from his home just outside Vejle. At the office, he’s famous for spoiling the team with his homemade Danish brown sugar cake (brunsviger) topped with almonds.
Who are we
For us, our motto “Value through people” means the importance of people in creating value for our business. This is a core value in our work, as we know that the foundation of our success lies in each member of our team.
We are business professionals from different management positions and industries with long experience in finding the right employee for each position. From this, we formed our common “SAM” community, where at least two of the most suitable consultants participate in each application process.
